Priority

So, as an honors student, I get a priority pass. This means I get an edge when it comes to picking out my classes for the next quarter as a sort of reward for my hard work and good behavior and general good looks. Now, regardless of whether or not I deserve to be in the honors program (this year I have not done any of the requirements, and on my schedule for the future I also don’t have any planned…), I have this priority pass.

And the priority pass has a cap. This basically means any class that gets half-full with priority people is closed to other priority people… which is actually a lot of people, since more than just the honors program has it. It’s ridiculous how many actually get it.

The two classes I need, my last General Ed class and my firsteveromg Spanish upper-division… are half-full. Taken.

What’s the point of priority if the classes are taken up because everyone has priority?! TELL ME THAT!

Then it quietly hit me that I’m not even doing honors work or honors classes or honors anything… this is the Irony Gods way of smiting me.

Well played… BUT NOT WELL ENOUGH.

I COUNTER WITH +2 CARD OF FRIENDSHIP. Two of my friends now have their classes reserved with priority. The Irony Gods didn’t win.

And maybe I learned a lesson about sharing?
