(A $3,320 haircut? For that much you’d think it would’ve gotten styled or something, but no. All gone!)
This year was extra amazing! It was at our local megamall so there was a much bigger audience than before, and some of these passers-by jumped right on in and had their heads shaved, a testament to the goodness of the cause and the people involved.
The event, organized by Robin Keaton and her charity, was much bigger than the past two years that I’ve participated. After all is said and done, she’s hoping to have raised $225,000, which is more than double last year’s total. That would make us the 7th-largest in fund-raising in the country. That really blew me away when I found out, that our event was such a significant contributor to the whole foundation. There were also over 300 shavees, from what I heard last, and that makes us the 8th most popular event in the country, contending with some of the events from St. Louis, Chicago and New York, places people have heard of!
And now for mo’ pictures.

This is the center of our mall, a place normally reserved for Santa and the Easter Bunny. To know that St. Baldrick’s has risen to that level of cultural fame warms my heart.

The fuzz ain’t go no fuzz no mo’!

This guy, Mr. Dodge, had much of his elementary class there supporting him and his son. Team DodgeBald. Hehe.

Still got hair and a girlfriend.

Still have hair and a mother.
Let’s see what happens when I lose the hair…

Oop. A little sweeping.

It begins! I feel a little lopsided.

Eek!

The razor’s touch is so warm…

Consequence for sticking the tongue out is a mouthful of hair.

Becky massages the scalp/tries to suck brain out.

Girlfriend sticks! Success!

And mother, too! Look how fashionable all those shirts are! Thanks to everyone who got one, I think it was 50 in total, so if you see someone around school with it, give ‘em a thumbs up! High five!

Hehe.

This is where toupees are born.

The wonderful organizers of this event, sharing some final numbers and some well-wishing. They’re really amazing and I have little doubt of the continued success of this event.
It’s been a really good few months, and I’m overwhelmed once again by your support. I can’t say this enough, but thank you. Thank you.
Once I get a little stubble going, I’ll start planning for next year’s event!
High fives!
